Goodwater Healthcare Center General Information

Office Hours

Office hours at Goodwater Healthcare Center are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions regarding any concerns you have about your family member who resides at our facility.

Placement

For information regarding placement in Goodwater Healthcare Center, please call 256-839-6711 and ask for one of the following people: Janice Tyler, Administrator, Lena Simmons, Social Services Director/Admissions Information or Patricia Ray for Financial Information.

Family Visitation

Family members and friends may visit their loved ones at any time, day or night, unless visitors would inconvenience a roommate or other resident. We offer the use of our dayrooms for families to visit with each other if the resident's room is not available. We recommend that visitation mostly occur between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm. Family members/friends are always welcome to attend daily activities and/or eat meals with residents.

Security

We are a secure facility in that all doors are locked and require a code to enter/exit the buildings.

Tours

We gladly welcome family members to come to the facility for a physical tour at any time that is convenient for them.

Volunteers

We have individuals of various ages, from teenagers to elders, who come to the facility to volunteer. Contact Gwen Stockdale, Activity Director, to do so.

Events

We have "Family Events" in the spring and in the fall where we gather together and bring covered dishes and enjoy spending time with teach other. We also hold a Fall Festival in November. A Beauty Pageant to select Ms. Goodwater Healthcare Center is usually held in April. The winner then attends and participates in the Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant in August.

Smoking

Residents are allowed a designated smoking area in the facility with staff monitoring.
